Hey everyone!
My name is Belén, a 26 year old psychologist, born and raised in a small city located in the countryside of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Besides being a passionate about my career, what I probably enjoy the most is staring a sunset at the beach, have a swim in the sea and share a good time with my love beings. I also love dogs, travel, connect with new cultures and of course, as most Argentineans, watch a good football match.
Back to psychology, since a really young age I was interested in the way our mind works as well as in understanding why people behave the way we do, and always thought this could be the field I wanted to work when grown up, as I was aware that my desire was in helping others. After my own experience going through a psychotherapy process, there was no doubt that I wanted to help people the same way I was helped. This way, after finishing High School at the age of 18, I moved to Buenos Aires Capital City to start studying my Psychology degree at the University of Buenos Aires.
During six years, not only I learned so many interesting, important and useful things that made me fall in love with the career I had chosen, but also I met lot of different people, that came from totally diverse backgrounds and had their own and singular stories. With this in mind and while I started to specialize in Systemic and Narrative Psychology, I understand how important is to have a work approach that respect each person subjectivity, that is guided by understanding where people's suffering comes from.
While finishing my studies I started to work as a support worker, most of all, with children with disability in the school context, working not only with the kids, but also with their family, classmates and teachers. By the same time, my desire of travel around the world was pushing to go out for the adventure, and that is how, a year after finishing my degree, I decided to flight to Australia.
Nowadays, after more than an year and a half, travelling around this beautiful and huge country, that gave me the opportunity to enjoy the most beautiful places I have ever seen, and meet people of all over the world, with different cultures and lifestyles, I have settle here in the Gold Coast, willing to use my knowledge and experience to help you reach your goals, get to know you and your unique life story, accompanying in an emphatic way, respecting your times and decisions, making sure to co-build a positive work environment where you feel free and safe to express your thoughts, feelings and concerns.
