Discover how Workforce Evolve helped turn growing pains into a structured, confident approach to business success.
When Beau Janetzki noticed a disconnect between clients and the companies meant to support them, he knew something had to change. In 2021, after working as a support worker for larger organisations, Beau launched Jango Community Services with a clear vision: create a more personal, client-focused approach to care.
“I started Jango after being a support worker myself. You could really tell there wasn’t much connection between the actual clients and the corporate side. It wasn’t a healthy environment, so I thought I’d try and start something a bit more friendly,” Beau said.
Believing that the best support comes from genuine connection and understanding, Beau’s approach quickly resonated. In just four years, Jango has grown to a team of 15 employees – a testament to its commitment to doing things differently.
But with growth came new challenges.
While Beau was confident in his ability to help others and make a difference in the community services space, he knew his strengths didn’t lie in business management.
“I was more familiar with the needs of clients than managing employees,” Beau said. “I started searching government websites to understand what business management could look like for us.”
It was during this search that Beau discovered Workforce Evolve, a Queensland Government-funded program designed to help businesses build inclusive, future-focused workplaces.
Turning uncertainty into action
Admittedly, Beau says he went in blind.
“I was just hoping to get any information. I didn’t know what I was looking for. When I started doing Workforce Evolve, it was clear that most of the content could be used and was applicable,” Beau said.
Workforce Evolve wasn’t just a source of information for Beau and Jango Community Services – it became a roadmap for building a stronger, more inclusive business.
The program’s flexibility meant he could learn at his own pace, often completing modules at night after a busy day supporting clients and managing a team.
“I couldn’t dedicate a full day just to training, so being able to access it when it suited me was great,” Beau says.
The program also helped turn ideas into action.
“A lot of what I learnt in the modules were things we hadn’t implemented yet, or we had talked about putting into action, like improving the onboarding processes, but we never got around to,” Beau said. “Workforce Evolve gave us the clarity and steps we needed to get started.”
Practical tools for real change
Before joining Workforce Evolve, Beau recognised that Jango lacked a formal structure, which affected staff and operations. “The lack of structure leaked down to every employee,” he said.
Since completing the program, Jango now has systems in place to support its team members. Workforce Evolve helped implement formal check-ins with staff, improve intake and onboarding processes, and streamline communication across the team. Beau says these changes support clarity around roles and expectations, which improved overall performance.
“Through Workforce Evolve, communication has been streamlined, and across the board, it’s a whole lot clearer for everyone. That comes from the onboarding process – where it’s clear to everyone what their roles are and what we expect,” Beau said.
Tailored support that made a difference
Having support tailored to Jango’s needs helped Beau feel the program was practical rather than theoretical.
“The coaching sessions were beneficial. Having that one-to-one session where you can ask more direct questions related to your situation, were the most helpful by far,” Beau said.
This personalised support helped Jango apply Workforce Evolve concepts quickly and effectively.
“Our coach from Workforce Evolve was very helpful and connected us to another company to make sure our contracts were up to date… It’s all those small things that matter that have been improved.”
Looking ahead
Since completing Workforce Evolve, Beau has introduced new practices that strengthen team management and create a more inclusive workplace. Specific outcomes include regular feedback sessions, improved team communication, and defined career development pathways. These changes have given Jango a clearer plan for growth and a stronger foundation for supporting both clients and staff.
With the tools and confidence gained through Workforce Evolve, Beau is now focused on expanding Jango’s reach.
“Our goals now are to continue stabilising here on the Gold Coast and then start branching into the Brisbane area properly as well,” Beau says.
